Dries Van Noten AW19 at Paris Fashion Week Men's
Dries Van Noten has presented a selection of voices that accompanied his AW 2019/2020 collection—an aural backdrop of snatches of conversations and interviews with the men Van Noten admires. There was David Bowie, of course: his pleated pants, a flavor of his ’80s persona. There was David Hockney, talking about getting up mid-morning in California, and going out to see what’s around to paint.
There was a burst of Jimi Hendrix—cue a riff on tie-dye. Kurt Cobain, Andy Warhol, Francis Bacon, Yves Saint Laurent, David Byrne. And in the middle of it, there was the mordant voice of an Englishman, nailing the state of affairs today. “I think the whole of our society is run by insane people for insane objects," he said. Turned out to be John Lennon, in the ’60s.

JW Anderson is launching new Christmas collaboration
JW Anderson did it again and this time has collaborated with Gilbert & George in a new project for Christmas.
For those who don’t know the artistic duo Gilbert & George, they are renowned for their colorful photomontages. This time they gave their inspirational notes for a JW Anderson arty capsule collection.

Jonathan notes:
“For me, Gilbert & George are the ultimate British Modernists and I am obsessed with their work. I really appreciate both the sense of anarchy and order in what Gilbert & George do and in this way it works perfectly with JW Anderson – it’s a marriage of British eccentricities and traditions.”
Celine's first menswear collection will debut in January
Hedi Slimane will present his first collection dedicated exclusively to menswear for Celine during Men’s Fashion Week in Paris in January 2019.
On September 28, 2018, Hedi Slimane presented his first collection as creative director for Celine at Paris Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2019. The September show saw Slimane introduce masculine silhouettes for the first time, in a show that featured models of every gender. The menswear pieces had a rock edge, an aesthetic borrowed from the Parisian nightlife scene (which served as inspiration for the show). Now, the fashion world is awaiting Slimane’s first collection exclusively dedicated to menswear for Celine, which will debut in January 2019 at Men’s Fashion Week in Paris.

GUCCI will host a new exhibition in Florence during Pitti Uomo
Gucci opened Gucci Garden within the Palazzo della Mercanzia in Florence on January 10, just in time for this year’s Pitti Uomo trade show. Renovated by Alessandro Michele himself, the space holds several exhibition rooms overseen by critic and curator Maria Luisa Frisa, as well as a boutique filled with exclusive products, and a restaurant with the best chef in the world, Massimo Bottura, at its helm. Now, for the 95th Pitti Uomo in January 2019, Gucci has unveiled its plans for a brand-new exhibition, after dedicating one to Alessandro Michele’s collaborations with the house the designer’s homage to Björk’s. Two news artists, succeeding the work of Coco Capitán and Jayde Fish, will present their new murals.
Spread over two floors, the Gucci Garden highlights the history of Gucci, from its founding in 1921 to the present day, through a series of exceptional artefacts such as clothes, accessories, video installations and pieces of art. Each room explores the inspirations that were driving forces behind the house’s success, such as flora and fauna, one of Alessandro Michele’s favorite sources of inspiration and a recurring theme for several seasons now. Artists such as Coco Capitán, Jayde Fish and Trevor Andrew who all contributed to Gucci’s rise in the art world, have also contributed to the space, redecorating its walls with their unique artistic vision. Following the work of Capitán, Fish and Andrew, two new artists will take over the Gucci walls on January 8 2019, just in time for the 95th Pitti Uomo. The new exhibition will take over from the Björk-themed presentation currently in place.
